2020 the year of the pandemic! Obviously the Wedding industry as with so many industries has struggled massively during a year of restrictions and lockdowns. There are some positives to take from it though, families have gotten closer, people found ways to communicate online instead of in person, parents despite the challenges did home school, love became stronger & prevailed, Weddings did go ahead!

I’ve watched 8 lovely people get married this year, some under the tightest restrictions and do you know what, I enjoyed them just as much as any wedding, they were just as happy as any other couple, the true meaning of marriage showed stronger than ever. If you’re reading this and are getting married in early 2021 and are still a bit worried about what these times might bring and whether restrictions will still be in place - don’t be!

Here’s some of my advice for planning a ‘micro Wedding’ first don’t be afraid your Wedding is for you and your partner, don’t plan around other people if its not what you want to do, just go for it! It’s 100% a more personal experience, with less guests you can manage your budget easier to get creative in planning some more surprises for your nearest and dearest and with less of them means it’ll be easier to keep those little secrets too, you’ll also get all the feelings of an elopement but your closest family and friends will be there to see it! Time with your partner and your guests is also something that is important to so many couples, with less of you, you’ll definitely be able to do that! The atmosphere can also be amazing at a micro Wedding, there's less pressure which could make it a little more relaxed. Finally, you can always plan the biggest party later, which is the best excuse to put your Wedding outfits back on!

Whatever your circumstances, just do what is right for you, if you’re thinking about a micro Wedding then hopefully this blog has provided you with some reassurance to just go ahead and do it.

Back to this year, I’ve got to say it’s been quite significant year for me, despite everything I did manage to shoot some Weddings! I’ve also gotten creative too in planning my own styled shoots bringing my own personal visions to life in some of the most perfect locations and venues, I’ve attended workshops and bought better equipment, I’ve had 2 newspaper articles written about me too for my work in doorstep photoshoots and raising money for the NHS. So here’s some of my favourite images from this crazy year as well as some golden oldies thrown in the mix too!

Hope you enjoy! xx
